Mission Statement

The Community Youth League will provide a baseball/softball program of the highest quality possible to any child who meets the age requirements and desires to participate on a team.

The goal of the league is to make baseball and softball a rewarding experience for all children involved, regardless of ability. While each player should certainly be motivated to do his or her best on the playing field, equal importance will be placed on the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, respect for authority, good citizenship, teamwork, and fair play.

Participation in and the teaching of the fundamentals of baseball and softball shall be stressed over winning or individual achievement. It is the duty of the CYL Board of Directors and all adult members of the CYL to ensure that each player is given the opportunity to succeed and experience the goals of the Mission Statement.

CYL mandates that managers and coaches must always strive to do the following:

Reflect an understanding of good sportsmanship   Show and lead by example   Respect opposing players, coaches and the judgment/authority of umpires   The players should strive to do their best at all times.

The players and coaches should always be disciplined and work together as a team. All adults, particularly the managers and coaches, can best achieve the desired results by the examples they set in their approach to Little League Baseball.

By striving to achieve these goals, the Community Youth League will become an organization in which the entire community can take pride.
